Berkeley

1956 Berkeley

This is a car that Scott got when he was 10 (about 18 years ago. Original power was by a 328 three cylinder Excelsior motorcycle engine, chain drive, front wheel drive. Total weight of the car in that form was 725 lbs. The Excelsior's were not known for reliability, and the replacement is a 500cc Honda. Plans are to finish the car next year - it will be slightly heavier, but should have a top speed of around 100 mph and be a lot of fun for slaloms (read autocrosses, in the U.S.).

It still has the original 260 c.i. Ford V8 and was restored by the previous owner in the late 1980's.

1956 Corvette

1956 Corvette

Purchased from the original owner in the 70's when it had 37,000 miles on it - purchase price was $3700 . It has the original 265 c.i. engine with factory dual four barrels. The car now has 43,000 miles. The other unique features are a power soft top and a counter below the tach which tells you how many thousands of rpms the engine has turned (188,000).

MGC GT

1969 MGC GT

we restored this car last winter. It is right hand drive and originally came to Canada with an English fellow who worked at the British pavilion at Expo 86 in Vancouver. It has the British spec high compression engine and was wax oyled underneath which eliminated a lot of rust repair.

TR6 in progress

1969 TR6

this one just came in from Lodi, California. It's serial number is CC 25017L, which indicates that it is the 17th TR6 built. It has a couple of unique features not usually found on TR6's - one is a piece of fender bead over the rear fenders running from the door back to the start of the trunk lid, and the other is a stamping of HE on the block indicating a high compression engine, supposedly not available in North America. One of the previous owners had the misfortune to have his hood cable break and solved the problem by cutting the hood into two pieces!

The End Rear view - here is a 1968 GT6 (almost done), 1969 Lotus Elan (hasn't been out this year), and a 1954 Kaiser Darrin which needs top and interior (#272 of 435 built).
